03:28 PM EDT, 05/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were higher late Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index rising 1.7% and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) climbing 1.8%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 1.5%.

In corporate news, Acadia Pharmaceuticals ( ACAD ) shares jumped 26%. The company said Friday a US district court ruled in its favor in formulation patent litigation against Aurobindo Pharma and other abbreviated new drug application filers.
