The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) advanced 0.6%.

In corporate news, UnitedHealth Group ( UNH ) is considering several bids for its Latin American operations, Reuters reported. The health insurer has four nonbinding bids for the Banmedica business for about $1 billion, the report said. UnitedHealth ( UNH ) shares were 0.3% lower.
