The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.4%.

In corporate news, Eli Lilly ( LLY ) said it was planning to appeal against the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence's decision not to reimburse the cost of Alzheimer's drug Kisunla under the National Health Service. Its shares were down 2.7%.
