The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was 0.1% lower.

In corporate news, Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA ) reported fiscal Q3 results above analysts' estimates, even though the drugstore chain's financials were weighed down by weakness in US retail sales. Its shares rose 0.9%.
