03:38 PM EDT, 08/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks rose late Tuesday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) each adding 0.5%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.7%.

In corporate news, Eli Lilly ( LLY ) is being sued by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for allegedly bribing medical providers to prescribe its products, including weight loss and diabetes medications Mounjaro and Zepbound, the attorney general's office said Tuesday. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares were up 0.2%.
