The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) added 0.5%.

In corporate news, Eli Lilly ( LLY ) has agreed to buy Adverum Biotechnologies ( ADVM ) , which is developing a therapy to treat vision loss, in a deal worth up to $12.47 per share, the companies said in a joint statement Friday. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares rose 1% and Adverum climbed 3.6%.
