01:17 PM EDT, 04/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks rose Wednesday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index adding 1.8% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) up 1.9%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) advanced 1.9%.

In corporate news, AbbVie ( ABBV ) said Wednesday it has filed a lawsuit seeking to narrow and clarify the definition of an eligible patient under the federal 340B drug discount program. Shares rose 2.5%.
