The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.3%.
In corporate news, Aquestive Therapeutics ( AQST ) shares jumped past 5% after the company said it received two additional patents from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its Anaphylm sublingual film.
TransCode Therapeutics ( RNAZ ) said Wednesday it agreed to buy biotech immuno-oncology company Polynoma from a subsidiary of CK Life Sciences. The company also announced a $25 million equity investment from CK Life Sciences for the clinical development of TransCode's lead microRNA asset, TTX-MC138, into a phase 2 trial. TransCode shares jumped 22%.
Eli Lilly ( LLY ) is projected to report Q3 results broadly in line with Wall Street expectations, driven by a strong performance from diabetes drug Mounjaro and steady demand for obesity treatment Zepbound, Deutsche Bank said in a report Wednesday. Deutsche has a buy rating on Eli Lilly ( LLY ), with a price target of $900. Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares added 0.7%.
Intuitive Surgical ( ISRG ) shares rose 1.8% after it said Wednesday that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved a new software release for the Ion lung biopsy system.
