Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Decline Premarket Monday

09:17 AM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were declining premarket Monday with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLV ) down 0.4% and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) 0.1% lower recently.

BD's (BDX) biosciences and diagnostic solutions business has agreed to combine with Waters (WAT), the companies said. The deal is structured as a Reverse Morris Trust transaction valued at about $17.5 billion. Shares of Waters were down more than 10% pre-bell.

Zimmer Biomet Holdings ( ZBH ) signed a definitive agreement to acquire Monogram Technologies ( MGRM ) for a cash payment of $4.04 per common share, for a total equity value of about $177 million, the companies said. Shares of Monogram Technologies ( MGRM ) were rising by more than 72% premarket.

Takeda Pharmaceutical ( TAK ) shares were up more than 2% after the company said two phase 3 studies of its investigational therapy oveporexton for the treatment of narcolepsy type 1 met all primary and secondary endpoints.
