The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) shed 0.4%.
In corporate news, Hoth Therapeutics ( HOTH ) shares jumped 10% after the company said preliminary results of a preclinical study suggested that its HT-KIT drug inhibits and stabilizes tumor growth.
Coya Therapeutics ( COYA ) shares sank 28% after the company reported results from its phase 2 trial of LD IL-2 in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's Disease.
Tenet Healthcare ( THC ) shares surged 16% after the company posted better-than-expected Q3 results and raised its full-year earnings guidance.
Pfizer ( PFE ) lifted its full-year outlook on Tuesday, driven by higher expectations for sales of its COVID-19 drugs, as it swung to higher-than-expected earnings in Q3 and revenue jumped 31%. Its shares still were down 1.4%.
