In corporate news, Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) was ordered by a Los Angeles jury to pay $966 million to the family of Mae Moore after the company was found liable for its talc-based baby powder products, Reuters reported. Moore died of mesothelioma in 2021. Johnson & Johnson ( JNJ ) shares were down 0.2%.
Envoy Medical ( COCH ) shares rose 83% after the hearing health company said it received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to advance its Acclaim cochlear implant trial to the final stage.
Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) has laid off numerous workers at its Clayton, North Carolina, site, which produces semaglutide used in its weight-loss and diabetes drugs Wegovy and Ozempic, Reuters reported Monday. Novo shares declined 0.7%.
