Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Higher Premarket Friday

09:16 AM EDT, 03/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were higher premarket Friday, with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLV ) up 0.4% and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) 0.6% higher recently.

Sutro Biopharma ( STRO ) said it appointed Jane Chung as its new chief executive and plans to nearly halve its workforce, following a strategic review of the company's portfolio. Sutro Biopharma ( STRO ) shares fell by over 14% pre-bell.

Inovio Pharmaceuticals ( INO ) shares were up more than 3% after the company said interim results from an ongoing phase 1 study of DNA-encoded monoclonal antibodies for COVID-19 demonstrated durable in vivo antibody production.

ANI Pharmaceuticals ( ANIP ) shares were over 1% higher after the company said the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Iluvien to treat chronic non-infectious uveitis affecting the eye's posterior segment.
