02:01 PM EDT, 03/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were mixed Friday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index fractionally up and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) down 0.1%.

The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 1.1%.

In corporate news, Milestone Pharmaceuticals' ( MIST ) shares tumbled past 59% after it said the US Food and Drug Administration highlighted two issues regarding its new drug application for nasal spray etripamil for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.

PTC Therapeutics ( PTCT ) shares fell 2% after it said Friday that the European Commission has adopted the recommendation of the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use to not renew Translarna's marketing authorization for nonsense mutation Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Quantum Biopharma ( QNTM ) shares rose 2.7% after it reported a 2024 net loss of $14.9 million, narrowing from the loss of $18.2 million a year earlier.
