The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) shed 0.5%.
In corporate news, Vivani Medical ( VANI ) shares rose 4.3% after it said Wednesday it appointed Anthony Baldor as chief financial officer. Baldor was previously CFO of Diakonos Oncology, Vivani said.
Cabaletta Bio ( CABA ) shares fell 26% after it said Wednesday it priced an underwritten public offering of securities to raise about $100 million.
Vaxart ( VXRT ) shares jumped 28% after the phase 1 trial of its second-generation oral norovirus vaccine pills met its primary immunological endpoint.
AbbVie ( ABBV ) shares added 0.9% after the US Food and Drug Administration granted a label expansion for Mavyret to treat people with the hepatitis C virus.
