Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Mixed Premarket Thursday

09:18 AM EDT, 06/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were narrowly mixed premarket Thursday with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLV ) marginally higher and the iShares Biotechnology ETF ( IBB ) fractionally lower.

Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA ) fell by more than 20% after it reported fiscal Q3 adjusted net earnings of $0.63 per diluted share, down from $1.00 a year earlier. The company also lowered its fiscal 2024 adjusted earnings forecast.

Recursion Pharmaceuticals ( RXRX ) was almost 20% lower after it priced a public offering of 30.8 million shares of its class A common stock at $6.50 per share for expected gross proceeds of about $200 million.

Kala Bio ( KALA ) was up over 29% after saying it signed a securities purchase agreement with a group of institutional investors to sell common stock and series H convertible non-redeemable preferred shares in a private placement for gross proceeds of about $12.5 million.
