The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) climbed 1.5%.
In corporate news, United Therapeutics ( UTHR ) has a clear path for additional revenue of $5.4 billion from Tyvaso by 2033 following positive results in a clinical trial for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Oppenheimer said in a note Friday. Oppenheimer kept its outperform rating on the stock while raising its price target to $575 from $510. United Therapeutics ( UTHR ) shares gained 2.6%.
Legend Biotech ( LEGN ) is weighing a second listing outside of the US, Bloomberg reported. Possible locations include Hong Kong, Singapore and London, the report said. Legend shares were up 1.8%.
The World Health Organization said Friday it has added Novo Nordisk's ( NVO ) Ozempic and Eli Lilly's ( LLY ) Mounjaro to its list of essential medicines. Novo and Eli Lilly ( LLY ) shares were down 2% and 1.9% respectively.
