The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) increased 0.5%.
In corporate news, Pfizer ( PFE ) is readying to sue Metsera ( MTSR ) and potentially Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) after Novo submitted an unsolicited proposal to acquire Metsera ( MTSR ), outbidding Pfizer ( PFE ), Semafor reported Thursday. Pfizer ( PFE ) shares were up 0.7%, Novo fell 2.3%, and Metsera ( MTSR ) jumped 23%.
Indivior ( INDV ) posted higher Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue and also raised its 2025 revenue guidance. Shares rose 14%.
Eli Lilly ( LLY ) lifted its full-year outlook and reported Q3 results above market expectations as sales of its Mounjaro diabetes treatment and weight-loss drug Zepbound more than doubled year over year. Its shares rose 3.7%.
Guardant Health ( GH ) shares surged 27% after the company reported overnight better-than-expected Q3 results and raised its full-year revenue forecast.
