The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) eased 0.4%.
In corporate news, Biogen (BIIB) shares fell 3% after it said in a regulatory filing Monday it expects to take a charge that will lower its Q1 GAAP and non-GAAP earnings by $0.19 per share. The charge is related to acquired in-process research and development, as well as upfront and milestone expenses totaling about $34 million on a pretax basis, the company said.
Neurocrine Biosciences ( NBIX ) on Monday agreed to acquire Soleno Therapeutics ( SLNO ) in a deal worth $2.9 billion, as the biopharmaceutical firm aims to expand its endocrinology and rare disease portfolio. Neurocrine shares rose 0.3%, and Soleno jumped 32%.
ImmunityBio ( IBRX ) shares dropped 3% after it said Monday that it has removed a podcast about its bladder cancer drug Anktiva from its website and asked third-party hosting platforms to remove the podcast to address the US Food and Drug Administration's concerns.
Entrada Therapeutics' ( TRDA ) management expressed confidence ahead of a Q2 data readout for its ENTR-601-44 Duchenne muscular dystrophy program, highlighting differentiated data from its endosomal escape platform and a favorable safety profile, Oppenheimer said in a note. Entrada shares gained 5.4%.
