Sector Update: Health Care Stocks Steady Premarket Thursday

09:14 AM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were steady premarket Thursday, with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLV ) slightly declining and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) inactive.

Sanofi ( SNY ) reported positive late-stage trial results of its experimental drug for the skin condition atopic dermatitis but according to news outlets, the improvement was less than Dupixent, Sanofi's ( SNY ) current top-selling drug for the same condition. Shares of Sanofi ( SNY ) were down more than 8% pre-bell.

Guardant Health ( GH ) stock was more than 7% lower even after the company said its updated Shield V2 algorithm for colorectal cancer screening met primary endpoints and showed 84% sensitivity and 90% specificity, with 62% sensitivity in detecting stage I CRC.

Aquestive Therapeutics ( AQST ) shares were up more than 5% after the company said it was informed by the US Food and Drug Administration that an advisory committee meeting is not required for its new drug application for Anaphylm sublingual epinephrine film to treat severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.
