Indian shares ended Thursday's session with gains as benchmark indices recouped today's intraday losses. The BSE Sensex ended 157 points higher, while the NSE Nifty50 reclaimed 17,500 level. Gains in index majors like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys and index heavyweight Reliance Industries helped offset weakness in other index majors like Kotak Mahindra Bank. Reliance Industries shares surged over 2 percent to Rs 2,474. At 14:00 IST, the stock was up over 1.5 percent to Rs 2,460. In comparison, the S&P BSE Sensex rose over 0.17 percent. The latest surge comes on the back of an agreement the company (Jio-BP, —a joint venture of Reliance Industries Ltd and BP, a British multinational oil & gas company) has inked with the Mahindra Group, for EVs.
