The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) increased 0.2%.

In corporate news, Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) is seeking a preliminary US court injunction to immediately block advertising by Eli Lilly ( LLY ) for its obesity and diabetes drugs, escalating the companies' legal dispute over weight-loss drug marketing, Reuters reported Friday. Novo shares rose 1.7%, and Lilly was up 1.3%.

Tenet Healthcare ( THC ) shares jumped past 17% after it posted higher Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue, and raised its 2026 guidance.

Scribe Therapeutics (SCTX) shares surged 50% in their Friday debut on Nasdaq after the company priced its IPO of 8.58 million shares at $15 per share.
