01:25 PM EDT, 03/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Thursday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 0.7% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 3.6%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index gained 3.7%.

In corporate news, the US Department of Justice and attorneys general from 15 states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit Thursday against Apple ( AAPL ) for allegedly violating antitrust laws. Separately, Apple ( AAPL ) and Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) are set to face the first investigations under the EU's Digital Markets Act, Bloomberg reported Thursday. Apple ( AAPL ) shares fell 3.6% and Alphabet was shedding 0.9%.
