The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was down 1.2%.

In corporate news, F5 (FFIV) shares tumbled past 7% after fiscal Q2 revenue declined more than forecast. The company also issued fiscal Q3 guidance that fell short of the average analyst estimates compiled by Capital IQ.
