03:34 PM EDT, 07/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks rose late Wednesday afternoon with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) adding 1.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) gaining 2.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 2.3%.

In corporate news, Alphabet (GOOG) shelved its effort to buy HubSpot ( HUBS ) , Bloomberg reported Wednesday. HubSpot ( HUBS ) shares tumbled 14%, and Alphabet climbed 1%.
