01:39 PM EST, 12/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 0.7% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) adding 0.8%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor climbed 2.1%.

In corporate news, Nasdaq said Friday that MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) would be added to the Nasdaq-100 index ahead of trading on Dec. 23. MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) shares jumped 6.7%.
