03:31 PM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) adding 0.8% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 2%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 2.8%.

In corporate news, MicroStrategy ( MSTR ) said it acquired 5,262 bitcoins for about $561 million in cash from Dec. 16 through Dec. 22. Its shares were falling past 8%.
