11:46 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks rose in Tuesday trading with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.9% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) gaining 1.3%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 1%.

In corporate news, Meta's (META) WhatsApp and Alphabet's (GOOG) Google Play are set to become accessible again in Iran as the country's authorities ease internet restrictions, media outlets reported. Meta shares climbed 1%, and Alphabet rose 0.4%.
