01:40 PM EST, 01/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 1.6% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 1.9%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index gained 2.7%.

In corporate news, Desktop Metal ( DM ) shares jumped past 12% after it said Friday that the Delaware Court of Chancery has approved its motion for an expedited trial in a lawsuit that the company filed on Dec. 16 against Nano Dimension ( NNDM ) . Nano Dimension ( NNDM ) shares were down 0.6%.
