03:41 PM EDT, 05/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher late Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) adding 1.7% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 4.6%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 3.6%.

In corporate news, Microsoft's ( MSFT ) Xbox unit said Friday it increased prices for consoles and controllers worldwide as well as for headsets in the US and Canada, effective May 1. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares added 2.4%.
