The Philadelphia Semiconductor index declined 0.3%.

In corporate news, shipments of smartphones, including Apple ( AAPL ) iPhones, from China to the US have fallen to their lowest levels in 14 years, Bloomberg reported. Apple ( AAPL ) shares were down 0.8%.
