The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 2%.

In sector news, Alphabet's (GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) searches are being replaced by chatbots, eliminating the need to click on blue links and causing referrals to news sites to drop, The Wall Street Journal reported.

In corporate news, Evogene ( EVGN ) shares rose 88% after the company completed its generative AI foundation model for small molecule design, developed in collaboration with Alphabet's Google Cloud.
