The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 0.6%.

In corporate news, Meta (META) is recruiting engineers from rival tech companies, including Alphabet's (GOOG) Google, to form a team to develop artificial general intelligence, Bloomberg reported. Meta shares fell 1%.
