01:11 PM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were higher Wednesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.4% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 1.7%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 1.1%.

In corporate news, Meta Platforms ( META ) has offered Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI workers signing bonuses of up to $100 million and larger annual compensation packages, media outlets reported Wednesday, citing OpenAI Chief Executive Sam Altman. Meta shares were up 0.3% and Microsoft ( MSFT ) was adding 0.2%.
