The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 0.3%.

In corporate news, Meta (META) executives held talks on "de-investing" in the company's AI model Llama, The New York Times reported Friday. The executives discussed adopting closed-source AI models such as those of Anthropic and Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI, in contrast with Llama's open-source model, the report said. Meta shares were rising 0.5%.
