03:39 PM EDT, 08/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were lower late Thursday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.3% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) shedding 0.2%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 1.3%.

In corporate news, Core Scientific's ( CORZ ) largest active shareholder, Two Seas Capital, said in a letter to fellow shareholders Thursday that it plans to vote against the company's proposed sale to CoreWeave ( CRWV ) , unless the deal terms are revised. Core Scientific ( CORZ ) shares rose 1.7% and CoreWeave ( CRWV ) jumped 8.2%.
