01:17 PM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Thursday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.6% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 1.9%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 0.4%.

In corporate news, Nvidia ( NVDA ) is on course to reach $5 trillion in market capitalization by early 2026, Wedbush Securities said after the tech bellwether beat fiscal Q2 estimates and outlined a strong revenue outlook despite ongoing headwinds related to the Chinese market. Shares were down 1.4% in recent trading.
