The Philadelphia Semiconductor index rose 0.1%.

In corporate news, Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) and Amazon.com ( AMZN ) are being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission over whether they misled advertisers that place ads on their websites, Bloomberg reported. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares were down 0.6% and Alphabet was up 0.4%.
