03:21 PM EDT, 10/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher late Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 2.4% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) surging 7.2%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index climbed 4.8%.

In corporate news, Alphabet's (GOOGL, GOOG) Google ( GOOG ) said Monday it will invest $9 billion in South Carolina through 2027 to expand its Berkeley County data center and support the construction of two new sites in Dorchester County. Alphabet shares rose 2.7%.
