01:10 PM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Tuesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.4% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 1.2%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 0.5%.

In corporate news, Microsoft ( MSFT ) will rent capacity from data center company Nscale as part of a project in Portugal to ramp computing resources to match rising AI demand, Bloomberg reported. The project at the Start Campus data center park in Sines, Portugal, will use Nvidia's ( NVDA ) AI chips and is expected to be operational in early 2026, Bloomberg said. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares were easing 0.1%.
