03:33 PM EDT, 03/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were in the red late Thursday afternoon with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) falling 1% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) dropping 1.6%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index declined 1%.

In corporate news, Meta (META) said Thursday that advertisers must disclose when AI is used to create or alter political or social issue ads as part of the company's efforts to fight misinformation ahead of Canada's federal election this year. Meta shares were rising 0.9%.
