The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 1.3%.

In corporate news, Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI is close to raising $10 billion from venture investors, including MGX, Coatue Management, and Thrive Capital, in a funding round at a $730 billion valuation, Bloomberg reported. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares were down 2.4%.
