01:08 PM EDT, 04/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were higher Wednesday afternoon, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) rising 3.4% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 5.5%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index gained 6.1%.

In corporate news, Meta Platforms ( META ) shares jumped past 9% after it launched Muse Spark, a new multimodal reasoning model and the first in its Muse family, as the company steps up efforts to build what it calls "personal superintelligence."
