The Philadelphia Semiconductor index slumped 3.8%.

In corporate news, Apple's ( AAPL ) subsidiary in Ireland, Apple Distribution International, is facing a 390,000 British pounds ($516,093) penalty in the UK for violations of the sanctions against Russia, the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation said Monday. Apple ( AAPL ) shares were down 0.7%.

Meta Platforms ( META ) trades at a 55% price/earnings-to-growth discount to peers, with agentic catalysts like MetaClaw potentially driving revisions and re-rating, Morgan Stanley said in a note. Meta shares rose 2.2%.
