09:09 AM EDT, 08/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were edging higher premarket Friday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) advancing by 0.3% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF ( XSD ) up 0.9%.

Reddit ( RDDT ) will replace AvalonBay Communities (AVB) in the S&P 500 prior to the opening of trading on Aug. 18, S&P Dow Jones Indices said. Shares of Reddit ( RDDT ) were up more than 11% pre-bell.

Applied Materials ( AMAT ) shares were down more than 6% after the company issued fiscal Q4 outlook below analysts' expectations.

Globant ( GLOB ) stock was down more than 12% after the company posted a decline in Q2 adjusted earnings.
