03:46 PM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were lower late Tuesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 0.6% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) falling 1.9%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index declined 1.9%.
In corporate news, CoreWeave ( CRWV ) doesn't plan to change its $9 billion bid for Core Scientific ( CORZ ) , Bloomberg reported, citing CoreWeave ( CRWV ) Chief Executive Michael Intrator from an interview on Bloomberg TV. CoreWeave ( CRWV ) shares were down 3.1% and Core Scientific ( CORZ ) fell 4.6%.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) Chief Executive Jensen Huang said the chipmaker will continue to sponsor H-1B visas and cover all related costs, Business Insider reported, citing an internal memo, amid a new $100,000 fee for skilled foreign worker visa applicants. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares were fractionally higher.
Oracle (ORCL) is seeing thin profit margins in its fast-growing AI cloud server business, according to internal documents cited by The Information on Monday. Oracle shares were down 2.5%.
Dell (DELL) said Tuesday it raised its annual revenue growth target to a range of 7% to 9% from 3% to 4%. The company also lifted its annual non-GAAP earnings per share growth forecast to 15% or better from 8% or better. It shares added 3.8%.
