03:58 PM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks rose late Wednesday afternoon with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) rising 0.1% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) climbing 1.8%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 0.8%.

In corporate news, Amazon.com ( AMZN ) is planning to release an upgraded version of its Alexa voice assistant complete with generative artificial intelligence that will come with a monthly subscription fee, CNBC reported. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares eased 0.1%.

UBS has started coverage of JFrog ( FROG ) with a buy rating, saying the company can achieve more than 20% revenue growth with expansion in the software-as-a-service segment in the "high 30s." JFrog ( FROG ) shares rose 3%.

Enphase Energy ( ENPH ) shares jumped 8.7%, a day after the company launched its IQ8 solar microinverters in Finland.

SunPower (SPWR) shares surged 14% after it said it will start offering Tesla's (TSLA) Powerwall 3 battery storage product.
