Sector Update: Tech Stocks Lean Lower Premarket Friday

09:19 AM EDT, 10/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Technology stocks were leaning lower premarket Friday as the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLK ) was 0.1% lower and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF ( XSD ) was down 2% recently.

EchoStar ( SATS ) shares were flat after the company launched an exchange offer for convertible senior notes due 2025, 2026 issued by Dish Network.

Meta Platforms ( META ) said it removed a network of fake accounts targeting Russian-speakers in Moldova for violating its coordinated inauthentic behavior policy. Meta Platforms ( META ) shares were up 0.2% premarket.

Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google ( GOOG ) and Apple ( AAPL ) were asked by Indonesian authorities to remove PDD Holdings' ( PDD ) Temu from their app stores, Reuters reported, citing a minister. PDD shares were 2.8% lower pre-bell.
