01:46 PM EST, 02/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed Friday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) falling 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) gaining 0.6%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index was up 0.3%.
In corporate news, NetApp ( NTAP ) shares fell past 16% following its quarterly results overnight. The firm "unexpectedly stumbled" in fiscal Q3 with revenue at the low end of guidance, and Q4 rebound expectations "muted," Wedbush said.
Dell (DELL) late Thursday reported stronger-than-expected fiscal Q4 earnings, while its revenue fell short of market estimates. Its shares were falling 6.1%.
Microsoft ( MSFT ) said it's shutting down its Skype calling and messaging service in May. Microsoft ( MSFT ) shares were down 0.2%.
