Sector Update: Tech Stocks Mixed in Late Afternoon Trading

03:50 PM EST, 12/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tech stocks were mixed late Monday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) decreasing 0.8% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) rising 0.4%.

The Philadelphia Semiconductor index fell 1%.

In corporate news, VeriSign ( VRSN ) shares jumped past 5% after Baird upgraded the company's stock to outperform from neutral, while adjusting the price target to $250 from $200.

LeddarTech ( LDTC ) shares soared 396% after it disclosed Monday a collaboration and software license agreement with Texas Instruments (TXN) to deliver a platform for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving markets.

China's State Administration for Market Regulation is investigating Nvidia ( NVDA ) on suspicion of anti-monopoly law breaches, Bloomberg reported. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares fell 2.9%.

Nokia ( NOK ) shares gained 3.3% after JPMorgan upgraded the company's stock to overweight from neutral and raised its price target to $6.35 from $4.35.
