The Philadelphia Semiconductor index increased 0.3%.
In corporate news, Jamf ( JAMF ) is exploring a sale, as its stock price weakness makes it a takeover target, Reuters reported. Jamf ( JAMF ) shares added 0.7%.
AppLovin ( APP ) is likely to benefit from continued momentum in gaming amid growing mobile game user acquisition spending, Wedbush said in a note. Wedbush reiterated its outperform rating on the stock and raised its price target to $725 from $620. AppLovin ( APP ) shares rose 1.6%.
Alphabet (GOOG) and Amazon.com ( AMZN ) are being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission over whether they misled advertisers that place ads on their websites, Bloomberg reported. Amazon ( AMZN ) shares were falling nearly 1%, and Alphabet was up 0.2%.
Nvidia ( NVDA ) is backing off from its quasi-competition with Amazon's ( AMZN ) Amazon Web Services as it reduces its efforts to attract business to its cloud service, DGX Cloud, The Information reported. Nvidia ( NVDA ) shares added 0.2%.
IonQ ( IONQ ) shares jumped 17% after the firm said it received clearance from the UK Investment Security Unit for its $1.08 billion acquisition of Oxford Ionics.
